I originally came up with this style for the "36 Days of Type" instagram challenge where you create a letter each day for 36 days. It quickly turned into a Children's Alphabet book that I collaborated on with Casey Browning. The main idea was simple. Create each page with an alliteration of each letter about the animal doing silly things.
I also wanted to create a poster to accompany the book for children to hang up on their wall.
